“100 años: Luis Pérez Meza. Elisa Pérez Meza en Concierto”, tendrá al Teatro Ángela Peralta como el escenario ideal para celebrar un encuentro con la música, las imágenes y los recuerdos que el compositor y cantante sembró a lo largo de su vida en tierra sinaloense. 

“A mi papá lo conocen en toda partes del mundo. Fue un artista independiente, muy exitoso, que dejó aportaciones muy importantes: lo consideran como el primer folclorista de México y él le da a Sinaloa identidad dentro de su música. Lo que él le dio a su pueblo no se lo ha dado nadie, y estoy hablando de que teníamos muy bueno actores y cantantes”, comentó orgullosa su hija, Elisa Pérez Meza. 

En el mes de mayo la Lotería Nacional emitió un boleto con el rostro de Luis Pérez Meza. En Mérida y Ciudad de México se están preparando eventos especiales, y en Mazatlán este concierto será el marco del lanzamiento del disco “Sierreño y Gitano”en una noche que contará con las participaciones del Mariachi Continental y de un grupo de talentosos músicos y bailarines porteños que cantarán sus temas más entrañables.

“A las primeras 250 personas que compren boleto en orquesta y primer balcón se les regalará el disco. Yo quiero que la gente que vaya coree las canciones de mi padre y sé que realmente escucharán algo diferente. Yo siempre les trato de dar algo con todo el cariño que nace de mí para pasar un momento feliz. Los espero ahí para que compartamos juntos y festejemos esto que es para el gran trovador del campo, Don Luis Pérez Meza”.

Elisa Pérez Meza proviene de una familia de reconocidos cantantes entre quienes destacaron su padre Luis Pérez Meza, mejor conocido como “El Trovador del Campo”, y su tío Antonio Pérez Meza, creador de dos famosas agrupaciones musicales: el Trío Culiacán y el Trío Los Duendes, que dio a conocer al gran Álvaro Carrillo. 

Múltiples influencias musicales nutren el repertorio de la cantante. De su padre recibió lo mejor y más auténtico de la música popular mexicana y lo principal de la música del campo sinaloense: la tradicional música de tambora y banda.  

De sus años universitarios proviene el gusto por la canción latinoamericana con cantautores como Alfredo Zitarrosa, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Violeta Parra; y también, lo más tradicional de la canción cubana con artistas que van desde César Portillo de la Luz, José Antonio Méndez, “Bola de Nieve” y de Celia Cruz, hasta el movimiento de la Nueva Trova cubana con Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés o Vicente Feliú y otros. 

En 2001 graba su primer álbum, “Recordando al Trovador’, en honor a su Luis Pérez Meza acompañada por la Banda Ritmo de la Costa, de don Beto López. Desde entonces se ha presentado en importantes foros de México, Estados Unidos y Canadá, compartiendo créditos con artistas como Aziz Gual, Cacho Duvanced, Virulo y la Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes.

En el 2015 su disco “Excursiones”, refrenda su calidad vocal y su ánimo de innovar en los arreglos y estilo de cada género que aborda.

May 22, 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the artists who have given pride to Sinaloa, Don Luis Perez Meza. To celebrate "El Trovador del Campo" as is due, the Mazatlán Cultural Festival 2017 will present a unique event.

"100 years: Luis Pérez Meza. Elisa Pérez Meza in Concert ", will have the Angela Peralta Theater as the ideal setting to celebrate an encounter with the music, images and memories that the composer and singer sowed throughout his life in Sinaloa.

"My dad is known all over the world. He was an independent artist, very successful, who left very important contributions: he is considered the first folklorist of Mexico and he gives Sinaloa identity within his music. What he gave his people, no one else has given, and we had very good actors and singers, said his daughter, Elisa Pérez Meza, proudly.

In May, the National Lottery issued a ticket with the face of Luis Pérez Meza. Special events are being prepared in Mérida and Mexico, and in Mazatlán, this concert will be the setting for the release of the album "Luis Pérez Meza" on a night that will feature the participation of the Mariachi Continental and a group of talented musicians and dancers who will sing their most endearing songs.

"The first 250 people who buy tickets in the orchestra and first balcony sections will be given the CD. I want people to leave singing my father´s songs and I know they will really listen to something different. I always try to give them something with all the love that is born in me, to have a happy moment. I hope to see you there so that we can share together and celebrate the great Troubadour del Campo, Don Luis Pérez Meza.

Elisa Pérez Meza comes from a family of renowned singers, including her father Luis Pérez Meza, better known as "El Trovador del Campo", and her uncle Antonio Pérez Meza, creator of two famous musical groups: the Trio Culiacán and the Trio Los Duendes, for which the great Alvaro Carrillo was known.

Multiple musical influences nurture the repertoire of the singer. From her father she received the best and most authentic of Mexican popular music and the main music of the Sinaloan countryside: traditional Tambora music and Banda.

The taste for Latin American songs came from her university years with songwriters like Alfredo Zitarrosa, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Violeta Parra; and also the most traditional Cuban song with artists ranging from César Portillo de la Luz, José Antonio Méndez, "Bola de Nieve" and Celia Cruz to the Cuban New Trova movement with Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, Vicente Feliú and others.

In 2001, she recorded her first album, "Recalling the Troubadour," in honor of her father, Luis Pérez Meza, accompanied by the Band Ritmo de la Costa by Don Beto López. Since then she has appeared in important forums in Mexico, the United States and Canada, sharing credits with artists like Aziz Gual, Cacho Duvanced, Virulo and the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra.

In 2015, her album "Excursiones", endorses her vocal quality and her spirit of innovating in the arrangements and style of each genre that she tackles.
