Organizada por el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, la celebración convertirá al Teatro Ángela Peralta en el epicentro de las artes escénicas del Noroeste de México.  Su programación fue anunciada este jueves por Raúl Rico González, director general de Cultura, acompañado por Ramón Gómez Polo, director de Iguana Roja Teatro  y Abril Márquez, directora artística de la paramunicipal.

Rico González  habló de la expansión de la actividad teatral, del crecimiento del público y del nivel actoral de los artistas porteños a raíz de proyectos como  Escena Mazatlán  que este año presentará algunas de las propuestas teatrales más atractivas del país, con compañías que en los últimos años han logrado reconocimiento nacional e internacional a través de trabajos rigurosos, frescos y arriesgados.

El público podrá apreciar el trabajo escénico de figuras de la talla del primer actor Arturo Beristáin, ganador del Premio Ariel 1973 por su actuación en “El castillo de la pureza”, dirigida por Arturo Ripstein, quien será homenajeado por su brillante trayectoria artística minutos después de su actuación en Conferencia sobre la lluvia, un texto de Juan Villoro, que será presentado en el Teatro Ángela Peralta, el martes 26 de septiembre a las ocho de la noche.

En la cartelera compuesta por seis obras destaca la actuación de la primera actriz mexicana Tara Parra, dueña de una fecunda trayectoria junto a leyendas del arte como el mimo Marcel Marceau y los escritores Jean - Paul Sartre y Eugene Ionesco, entre otros y la participación del reconocido  “clown” Avner Eisenberg. 

Durante Escena Mazatlán 2017 se estrena  la obra Ajedrez y se anunció el pre estreno de Roma en el Desierto y La Injusticia. 

La programación también incluye dos talleres de formación: “El taller de dramaturgia”, que se realizará los días 22 de septiembre (de 16:00 a 20:00 horas) y el 23 de septiembre (9:00 a 13:00 horas), cuyo propósito es brindar un enfoque especializado sobre el arte de la escritura para teatro y será dirigido por el maestro Daniel Serrano.   Por otra parte el “Laboratorio de puesta en escena”, impartido por el dramaturgo Edén Coronado, se realizará del 25 al 29 de septiembre, de 9:00 a 13:00 horas, y explorará las diversas formas de abordar un montaje teatral.

Ambos talleres se realizarán en Casa Haas. La inscripción para el taller que impartirá Daniel Serrano tiene un costo de 500 pesos, los estudiantes sólo pagarán 300 pesos.  El taller a cargo de Edén Coronado será de acceso gratuito. Cupo limitado. 

Programación:

El sábado 23 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas, en el Teatro Ángela Peralta, “Todavía…siempre”, de la compañía Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes, ofrecerá una conmovedora aproximación a la tercera edad para comprender los misterios, dificultades y sabiduría que esta etapa de la vida esconde.

El domingo 24, a las 19:00 horas, toca el turno a “Roma en el desierto”, con la compañía Dramared y la Facultad de Artes de Universidad Autónoma de Baja California con una historia original de dramaturgo Daniel Serrano. Tres amigas buscan realizar el viaje de sus sueños: llegar a la legendaria Roma. Sin embargo, el camino las hará cruzar una puerta que puede ser el umbral del mismísimo infierno. 

El martes 26 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas en el TAP la Compañía Nacional de Teatro presenta en Mazatlán una obra escrita por Juan Villoro, “Conferencia sobre la lluvia”, una exploración al interior de un personaje, interpretado por el primer actor Arturo Beristáin, que entre sus divagaciones habla  de poesía, de la lluvia, de sus miedos, dolores y revelaciones más íntimas. 

El teatro mazatleco tomará el escenario el miércoles 27 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas con “Ajedrez”, de la compañía Iguana Roja, del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, que marca el debut como dramaturgo del maestro Ramón Gómez Polo en una historia tragicómica tejida desde sus experiencias y las de otros padres de familia, para relatar las luchas por criar, proteger y orientar a un hijo.

La noche del jueves 28 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas la Compañía El Rinoceronte Enamorado ofrecerá “La injusticia”, una obra que el dramaturgo Edén Coronado elaboró a partir de la lectura de “Los justos” de Albert Camus, y de su exploración de los dramas colectivos e individuales de diversos movimientos armados del México de los años 70.

El sábado 30 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas la magia de Avner Eisenberg, considerado  uno de los mejores clown de todos los tiempos, llega para hechizar a chicos y grandes en “Exceptions to Gravity” (Excepciones para la gravedad) un show lleno de ternura y magia que despertará las emociones más vivas de los espectadores.

Este mismo día llegará el cierre de Escena Mazatlán 2017 en punto de las 21:30 horas al ritmo del “Músico, poeta y loco” por excelencia: Germán Valdés “Tin-Tan”, en un pasacalles a cargo del maestro Agustín Martínez de la compañía Dance INC. Una colorida, ocurrente y vistosa forma de cerrar la máxima fiesta del arte teatral porteño.

Los boletos para todas las funciones de Escena Mazatlán 2017 tendrán un costo de 100 pesos y estarán disponibles en la taquilla del Teatro Ángela Peralta en horarios de 9:00 a 15:00 horas y de 17:00 a 19:00 horas. Las obras están dirigidas a adolescentes y adultos, con excepción de las presentaciones del sábado que estarán dedicadas a toda la familia (para ingresar a la función de Avner Eisenberg los niños deben ser mayores de 9 años).

Escena Mazatlan 2017 is announced and tribute to premier actor Arturo Beristáin

With the performance of companies from Mexico and the United States, from September 23 to 30 will be held the VII edition of the International Festival of Escena Theater Mazatlan 2017 and in the framework of this theatrical celebration will pay homage for his outstanding artistic career to the first Mexican actor Arturo Beristáin.

Organized by the Institute of Culture of Mazatlán, the celebration will turn the Teatro Ángela Peralta into the epicenter of the performing arts of Northwest Mexico.

Rico Gonzalez spoke of the expansion of theatrical activity, the growth of the public and the acting level of the Mazatlecan artists as a result of projects such as Escena Mazatlán that this year will present some of the most attractive theatrical proposals of the country, with companies that in recent years have achieved national and international recognition through rigorous, fresh and interesting work.

The audience will be able to appreciate the stage work of figures such as the first actor Arturo Beristáin, winner of the 1973 Ariel Award for his performance in "El castillo de la purza", directed by Arturo Ripstein, who will be honored for his brilliant artistic career minutes after his performance in the “Conferencia de la Lluvia”, a text by Juan Villoro, which will be presented at the Teatro Ángela Peralta, on Tuesday, September 26th at eight o´clock in the evening.

In the Escena calendar, made up of six works, the performance of premier Mexican actress Tara Parra, owner of an amazing work history working with art legends such as mime Marcel Marceau and the writers Jean - Paul Sartre and Eugene Ionesco, among others, and the participation of the renowned "clown" Avner Eisenberg.

During Escena Mazatlán 2017 the play “Ajedrez” (chess) is premiered and the premiere of “Roma en el Desierto” and “La Injustia” was announced.

The program also includes two training workshops: "The drama workshop", which will be held on September 22 (from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and on September 23 (9:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.) , Whose purpose is to provide a specialized approach to the art of writing for theater and will be directed by maestro Daniel Serrano. On the other hand, the "staging laboratory", given by the playwright Edén Coronado, will be held from September 25 to 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will explore the various ways to approach a theatrical assembly.

On Saturday, September 23rd at 8:00 p.m., at the Ángela Peralta Theater, "Todavia…siempre” (still ... always) from the Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes company will offer a touching approach to the elderly in understanding the mysteries, difficulties and wisdom that this stage of life hides.

On Sunday, the 24th, at 7:00 p.m., “Roma en el desierto”, (Rome in the desert), with Compañia Dramared and the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California with an original story by playwright Daniel Serrano. Three friends are looking to make the journey of their dreams: reaching legendary Rome. However, the road will take them through a door that may be the threshold of hell itself.
 
On Tuesday, September 26th at 8:00 pm at TAP the Compañía Nacional de Teatro presents a play written by Juan Villoro, “Conferencia sobre la lluvia”, (conference about rain", an exploration inside a character, played by premier actor Arturo Beristáin, who among his ramblings speaks of poetry, rain, his most intimate fears, pain and revelations.

Mazatlecan theater will take the stage on Wednesday, September 27th at 8:00 pm with "Ajedrez" (chess), from the Iguana Roja company, of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan, which marks the debut as a playwright of maestro Ramón Gómez Polo in a tragicomic history woven from his experiences and those of other parents, to tell the struggles of raising, protecting and guiding a child.

On the night of Thursday, September 28th at 8:00 pm, the Compañía El Rinoceronte Enamorado will offer "La injusticia" (the injustice), a play that playwright Edén Coronado elaborated from the reading of "Los justo" by Albert Camus, and his exploration of the collective and individual dramas of various armed movements of Mexico in the 1970s.

On Saturday, September 30th at 8:00 p.m., the magic of Avner Eisenberg, considered one of the best clowns of all time, arrives to charm big kids in "Exceptions to Gravity" a full show of tenderness and magic that will arouse the emotions of the spectators.

On the same day, the closing of Escena Mazatlán 2017 will begin at 9:30 pm at the rhythm of the “Músico, poeta y loco” (musician, poet and crazy) par excellence: Germán Valdés "Tin-Tan", in a parade run by maestro Agustín Martínez de la Company Dance INC. A colorful, entertaining and colorful way to close this great festival of Mazatlecan theatrical art.

Tickets for all functions of Escena Mazatlán 2017 will cost $100 pesos and will be available at the Angela Peralta Theater box office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The works are aimed at adolescents and adults, with the exception of Saturday, presentations that will be dedicated to the whole family (to enter the Avner Eisenberg show, children must be over 9 years old).
