La compañía Dzul Dance radicada en Nueva York goza de prestigio global y es dirigida por mexicano Javier Dzul, originario de Campeche, principal exponente de la danza ritual maya y quizá el único coreógrafo indígena en el mundo.

A través de una mezcla de bailes rituales, acrobacia y contorsión en este trabajo coreográfico Javier Dzul reflexiona sobre  la influencia de las culturas que han formado al ser del presente. 

El bailarín y coreógrafo ha cultivado elogiosas críticas por exponer a través del arte danzario la inmensa riqueza de la cultura maya y en este espectáculo abordará a través de la danza, las etapas de la colonización, la conquista y la revolución para retomar el legado artístico del México postrevolucionario.

“500 años, encuentro entre culturas” es una reflexión sobre las religiones, preferencias y diferencias estéticas, arte, cultura, misticismo, formas de expresión, leyendas, héroes y villanos, dioses y demonios, del pasado al presente que han contribuido a crear un ser único y emprendedor que ve un futuro sin barreras.

The company Dzul Dance, based in New York, enjoys global prestige and is led by Mexican dancer Javier Dzul, originally from Campeche, the main exponent of Mayan ritual dance and perhaps the only indigenous choreographer in the world.

Through a mixture of ritual dances, acrobatics and contortion in this choreographic work, Javier Dzul reflects on the influence of the cultures that have shaped the being of the present culture.

The dancer and choreographer has cultivated laudatory criticism for exposing the immense richness of Mayan culture through dance art, and in this show he will tackle through dance, the stages of colonization, conquest and revolution to take up the artistic legacy  of postrevolutionary Mexico.
