El repertorio fluirá bajo la batuta del maestro Enrique Patrón De Rueda, artista que guiará a la Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes, a la Camerata Mazatlán y al notable violinista William Harvey, músico invitado que ha forjado una carrera internacional única que lo ha llevado del Carnegie Hall, a las selvas de Papúa Nueva Guinea y Kabul en Afganistán.

La velada musical comienza con “Suite Carmen” de Georges Bizet en versión para Orquesta de Cuerdas y Percusión de Rodion Shchedrin.

Después del intermedio  será interpretado el 1er. movimiento de Scheherezade de Rimsky Korsakov, la partitura más popular e importante del músico ruso es una alfombra mágica que nos transporta al mundo de Las mil y una noches y sus Viejas historias orientales de tradición oral (Ali Babá, Las aventuras de Simbad y similares).

Después vendrá  Fantasía Carmen para violín y orquesta de Pablo de Sarasate, es una obra para violín y orquesta sobre temas tomados de la ópera Carmen de Georges Bizet.

En la parte final del concierto será interpretado el  Bolero del compositor francés  Maurice Ravel. Ida Rubinstein, bailarina y rica mecenas rusa, fue la inspiradora del Bolero y la estrenó en 1928.  Esta obra es una de las más famosas de Ravel, considerado  uno de los  exponentes más notables de la música del siglo XX.

El violinista invitado William Harvey recientemente fue nombrado concertino de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional,  es compositor, director de orquesta y educador.

De 2010 a 2014, enseñó violín y dirigió la orquesta en el Instituto Nacional de Música de Afganistán en la televisión nacional afgana, para el Presidente Hamid Karzai, y en una gira al Carnegie Hall y el Kennedy Center. Ha sido concertino de OSSLA (México), Orquesta Sinfónica de la UNSJ (Argentina) y Spokane Symphony (EEUU), así como profesor invitado en el Indiana University String Academy, Myanmar Music Festival, y Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, entre otros.

Tiene una maestría de la Juilliard School y una licenciatura de la Universidad de Indiana y ha realizado conciertos con orquestas en los Estados Unidos, Filipinas, México y Argentina.

Sus composiciones han recibido más de cien actuaciones en todo el mundo, y como director ha dirigido orquestas juveniles en  Estados Unidos, México, Argentina, Zimbabwe y Qatar, entre otros.

Como fundador y director de Cultures in Harmony, una ONG, dirigió casi 40 proyectos de diplomacia cultural en 16 países desde Pakistán hasta Camerún. Nacido en 1982 en Flint, Michigan, Estados Unidos, William ahora reside en la Ciudad de México y toca un violín de Joseph Curtin, hecho en 2001.

From Carnegie Hall to the Angela Peralta Theater: William Harvey at the Evening of the Arts (Velada de las Artes)

With the great musical program "Carmen y Scheherezade: Embrujo y Seducción" that will gather around one hundred musicians at the Ángela Peralta Theater, on Friday, February 2, the Velada de las Artes will honor the author of the most notable work of Mexican literature published during 2017.

The repertoire will flow under the baton of maestro Enrique Patrón De Rueda, an artist who will guide the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts, the Camerata Mazatlán and the notable violinist William Harvey, a guest musician who has forged a unique international career that has taken him from Carnegie Hall, to the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Kabul, in Afghanistan.

The musical evening begins with "Suite Carmen" by Georges Bizet in a version for Strings and Percussion Orchestra by Rodion Shchedrin.

After the intermission, the 1st. movement of Scheherazade by Rimsky Korsakov, the most popular and important score by the Russian musician is a magic carpet that transports us to the world of One Thousand and One Nights and his old oriental traditions (Ali Baba, The Adventures of Sinbad and the like).

Then, Carmen for violin and orchestra by Pablo de Sarasate will come, it is a work for violin and orchestra on themes taken from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet.

In the final part of the concert, the Bolero by French composer Maurice Ravel will be performed. Ida Rubinstein, a dancer and rich Russian patron, was the inspiration for the Bolero and it premiered in 1928. This work is one of the most famous by Ravel, considered one of the most notable exponents of twentieth-century music.

The invited violinist William Harvey was recently named concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra, is a composer, conductor and educator.

From 2010 to 2014, he taught violin and conducted the orchestra at the National Institute of Music of Afghanistan on Afghan national television, for President Hamid Karzai, and on a tour to Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He has been concertmaster of OSSLA (Mexico), Symphony Orchestra of the UNSJ (Argentina) and Spokane Symphony (USA), as well as visiting professor at the Indiana University String Academy, Myanmar Music Festival, and Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, among others.

He has a master´s degree from the Juilliard School and a bachelor´s degree from the University of Indiana and has performed concerts with orchestras in the United States, the Philippines, Mexico and Argentina.

His compositions have received more than one hundred performances around the world, and as a director, he has directed youth orchestras in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Zimbabwe and Qatar, among others.

As founder and director of Cultures in Harmony, an NGO, he directed almost 40 cultural diplomacy projects in 16 countries from Pakistan to Cameroon. Born in 1982 in Flint, Michigan, United States, William now resides in Mexico City and plays a violin by Joseph Curtin, made in 2001.
