Casi medio centenar de mazatlecos de diferentes edades y profesiones escucharon atentos las indicaciones del maestro González, quien durante más de cinco lustros ha dado clases de canto y dirigido el Coro Ángela Peralta, institución musical que ha formado a artistas de primer nivel como el barítono José Adán Pérez y el tenor Carlos Osuna.

Al inicio del curso, los asistentes aprendieron que el canto es un proceso complejo que involucra la coordinación de distintas partes del cuerpo; desde la entrada de aire por la boca, pasando por la tráquea, los pulmones y un rebote apoyado en el piso pélvico ubicado de la cavidad abdominal.

Asimismo, el maestro explicó la naturaleza de la voz grave de los hombres y la tonalidad aguda de las mujeres y proporcionó material escrito para estudiar en casa y así mejorar la modulación vocal de los nuevos cantantes.

Pasada la parte técnica, los alumnos realizaron distintos ejercicios físicos y mentales para administrar de forma correcta su respiración y, más tarde, el grupo pudo demostrar sus dotes vocales en breves interpretaciones grupales e individuales.

Este curso básico de vocalización y solfeo termina el 22 de febrero y su objetivo es detectar voces que tengan el potencial de ingresar a las filas del Coro Ángela Peralta. El curso, que finalizará este jueves, se realiza de 18:00 a 19:00 horas en el Salón de Canto de la Escuela de Música del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán. La entrada es libre.

Maestro Antonio González educates a new generation of singers

In an effort to educate a new generation of singers, this Monday, maestro Antonio González started a free vocalization and solfeggio course at the School of Music of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan.

Nearly fifty Mazatlecans of different ages and professions listened attentively to the instructions of maestro González, who for more than five decades has taught singing and has directed the Angela Peralta Choir, a musical institution that has trained top-notch artists such as baritone José Adán Pérez and the tenor Carlos Osuna.

At the beginning of the course, attendees learned that singing is a complex process that involves the coordination of different parts of the body; from the entrance of air through the mouth, passing through the trachea, lungs and a rebound resting on the pelvic floor located in the abdominal cavity.

In addition, the maestro explained the nature of the serious voice of the men and the acute tone of the women and provided written material to study at home and thus improve the vocal modulation of the new singers.

After the technical part, the students performed different physical and mental exercises to properly manage their breathing and, later, the group was able to demonstrate their vocal skills in brief group and individual interpretations.

This basic vocalization and solfege course ends on February 22, and its objective is to detect voices that have the potential to enter the ranks of the Angela Peralta Choir. The course, which ends on Thursday, takes place from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Singing Room of the School of Music of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán. Free entrance.
