The Book “El Taoismo Matizante de las Artes Marciales” (taoism, explains the martial arts) is presented in Casa Haas

“El Taoismo Matizante de las Artes Marciales” a book that reflects on the intimate spiritual, physical and philosophical relationship of Taoism with martial arts, was presented at Casa Haas by its author, the taekwondoin sixth dan black belt, maester of martial arts, and writer Jesus Antonio Reyes del Ángel

Before giving the microphone to the author, Jorge Félix Hernández Mejía, Angel Reyes’ teacher and commentator of the work, said that this text is of great importance because it is centered on a very ancient oriental philosophy that has survived over the centuries and is of vital importance in the life of the people who practice it. This was a great gesture of maestro Reyes to give his erudition to his readers.

Rooted in his 34 years as a practitioner and teacher of taekwondo, “El Taoismo Matizante de las Artes Marciales”, the third publication of Jesús Antonio Reyes del Ángel, tries to answer those technical and philosophical questions that the author has raised since he has been in contact with Taoism.

He stressed that this book is part of a trilogy that deals with the meeting of the martial arts with Oriental philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism to generate awareness about the true essence of martial arts and its basic pillars: history, tradition, respect, philosophy and technique.

The maestro shared that the reason for capturing his experiences in this publication is so that all the people who read his book not only see taekwondo as a show or an act to dominate the other, but as an art in which people can know each other better physically, mentally and spiritually.

Reyes del Angel was happy that his book is a work of formative, philosophical and sporty character and it also transcends the cultural area, because his writing is simple and so understandable that any person can understand its concepts.

At the end of the presentation, friends, family and students of maestro Reyes asked about the creative process of the book, the author signed copies purchased by attendees and took souvenir photographs.
