Acompañada por Papik Ramírez, Director del Instituto Sinaloense de Cultura y por Raúl Rico González, director del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, “La China” no pudo contener la emoción por traer al puerto, la tierra de sus mayores sueños y esfuerzos, una ambiciosa exposición que en este año ya se presentó en importantes recintos como el Salón de la Plástica Mexicana y Casa de Coahuila (ambos en Ciudad de México).  

“Hoy me expongo ante ustedes… como una artista cuya pasión gestual y obsesión conceptual es articular, cada vez mejor, tanto en estética como en contenido, mi verbo hecho forma, mis ideas hechas realidad, sin quererle gustar a nadie más que a la idea de la cual partió la forma; uno de los privilegios que suceden después de 28 años de decir lo que uno quiere a través del arte. Espero… disfruten esta exposición y que por lo menos, salgan atrapados por una de mis obras. Gracias”.

Una vez inaugurada la exposición el público se adentró en este viaje vital que mostró la evolución técnica, conceptual e intelectual de Cecilia Sánchez Duarte en 31 cuadros creados con técnicas como grabado, estampa mixta y arte objeto que balancean fuerza, rigor y delicadeza en obras que tienen como centros el erotismo, la naturaleza y los símbolos e íconos de la cultura nacional y regional para mostrar la interrelación entre micro y macrocosmos.  

Además, las instalaciones “Curriculum” y “¿Qué se guarda en una caja?”, esta última realizada a partir de un poema de Ana Belén López, se convirtieron en Happenings que permitieron al público participar de forma activa para mostrar el espíritu aventurero que le ha permitido a “La China” adentrarse en nuevos territorios y que quedó refrendado a través de tres videos. 

“Entretiempos” permanecerá en la Galería Rubio hasta el 16 de enero, pero para dar dinamismo a la exposición, Cecilia Sánchez Duarte ofrecerá este sábado 18 de noviembre dos visitas guiadas: de 12:00 a 13:00 horas, en inglés; y de 13:00 a 14:00 horas en español. En el mes de diciembre, la artista ofrecerá una charla de artista.

"Entretiempos": the artistic journey of Cecilia Sánchez Duarte

Maestra Cecilia Sánchez Duarte, one of the most important fine artists in the recent history of Mazatlan, gathered in the exhibition "Entretiempos", 28 years of trajectory in colors, shapes, concepts and intuitions in a vibrant event held at the Rubio Gallery.

Accompanied by Papik Ramírez, Director of the Sinaloan Instituto de Cultura and by Raúl Rico González, Director of the Instituto de Cultura Mazatlán, "La China" could not contain the excitement of bringing to the port, the land of her greatest dreams and efforts, an ambitious exhibition that this year was already presented in important venues such as the Salon de la Plastica Mexicana and Casa de Coahuila (both in Mexico City).

"Today I expose myself before you ... as an artist whose gestural passion and conceptual obsession is to articulate, better all the time, both in aesthetics and in content, my verbage made form, my ideas come true, without wanting to please anyone but the idea from which the form came; one of the privileges that happens after 28 years of saying what one wants through art. I hope that you enjoy this exhibition and that at least, that you are captured by one of my works. Thank you".

Once the exhibition was inaugurated, the public went into this vital journey that showed the technical, conceptual and intellectual evolution of Cecilia Sánchez Duarte in 31 paintings created with techniques such as engraving, mixed print and object art that balance strength, rigor and delicacy in works that have as centers eroticism, the nature and the symbols and icons of the national and regional culture to show the interrelation between micro and macrocosm.

In addition, the installations "Curriculum" and "What is stored in a box?", The latter made from a poem by Ana Belén López, became Happenings that allowed the public to participate actively showing the adventurous spirit that has allowed "China" to enter new territories and that was endorsed through three videos.

"Entretiempos" will remain in the Galería Rubio until January 16, but to give dynamism to the exhibition, Cecilia Sánchez Duarte will offer this Saturday, November 18, two guided tours: from 12:00 to 13:00 in English; and from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Spanish. In the month of December, the artist will offer an artist talk.
