El acto inaugural estuvo encabezado por los soberanos del Carnaval; por el Alcalde de Mazatlán, José Joel Bouciéguez; por el Director General del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, Raúl Rico González y el Director de Proyecto Centro Histórico A.C., Alfredo Gómez Rubio.

Raúl Rico señaló que la Muestra Gastronómica es el inicio  del Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán y realizarla en el corazón del Centro Histórico es de gran importancia pues en este sitio, en 1898, se llevaron a cabo los eventos de los primeros carnavales “modernos”, aquellos que comenzaron a destacar por su elaboración.

El Alcalde de Mazatlán hizo un llamado a que esta fiesta carnavalera sea disfrutada al máximo con un sentido de responsabilidad de parte de los mazatlecos y destacó que la Muestra Gastronómica representa un importante beneficio para los restauranteros de la Plazuela Machado y para los patasaladas en general.

Además de estas personalidades, la corte real del Carnaval 2018 “Patasalada: El circo de los talentos” engalanó el encuentro gastronómico: Alexa I, Reina del Carnaval; Sofía I, Reina de los Juegos Florales; Gabriela, Princesa Real;  Gretel, Reina Infantil de Carnaval; Camila, Reina de la Poesía; y Shuleyka, Princesa Infantil. Tulio Martínez, Rey de la Alegría; Radamés “El Profe”, Príncipe de la Alegría y Celia Jaúregui, Reina de los Juegos Florales del Carnaval 1993 y homenajeada por 25 años de reinado, completaron el cortejo.

Tras el corte del listón, el público degustó los platillos que los restaurantes La Tramoya, Casa Cannobio, Il Mosto, El Cielo y Pedro y Lola prepararon con esmero y dedicación: sándwich de prime Rib, Fajitas y Paella; pizzas y pasta, marlín en escabeche y carne asada al carbón que abrieron el apetito de la gran fiesta del puerto.

Gastronomic Fair of the MCarnaval Mazatlan 2018 is inaugurated

The traditional Gastronomic Exhibit of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan arrived in 2018 with a flood of flavors to flood the palates of Mazatlecos and foreigners who gathered in Plazuela Machado to learn a little about the vast gastronomic offering of the Pearl of the Pacific.

The inaugural act was headed by the sovereigns of the Carnaval; by the Mayor of Mazatlán, José Joel Bouciéguez; by the General Director of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán, Raúl Rico González and the Director of the Centro Historico A.C. Project, Alfredo Gómez Rubio.

Raúl Rico pointed out that the Gastronomic Show is the beginning of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan and to realize it in the heart of Centro Historico is of great importance because in this place, in 1898, the events of the first "modern" Carnavals were held, those that began to stand out for their development.

The Mayor of Mazatlan called for this Carnaval fiesta to be enjoyed to the fullest with a sense of responsibility on the part of the Mazatlecan people and stressed that the Gastronomic Show represents an important benefit for the restaurateurs of Plazuela Machado and for patasaladas in general.

In addition to these personalities, the royal court of Carnaval 2018 "Patasalada: The Circus of the Talents" adorned the gastronomic encounter: Alexa I, Queen of Carnaval; Sofia I, Queen of the Floral Prize of Poetry; Gabriela, Princess Real; Gretel, Children´s Carnaval Queen; Camila, Queen of Poetry; and Shuleyka, Princess Infantil. Tulio Martínez, King of Joy; Radamés "El Profe", Prince ofJoy and Celia Jaúregui, Queen of the Floral Prize of Poetry of the 1993 Carnaval and honored by 25 years of reign, completed the procession.

After cutting the ribbon, the public tasted the dishes that the restaurants La Tramoya, Casa Cannobio, Il Mosto, El Cielo and Pedro and Lola prepared with care and dedication: prime Rib sandwiches, Fajitas and Paella; pizzas and pasta, pickled marlin and charcoal-grilled meat that whetted the appetite of the great fiesta of the port.
