Inscripciones cerradas.

The “Intervention of Textiles to Make Costumes” Workshop with Jerildy Bosch Begins

With more than 20 years of experience in creating costumes for the circus, theater, dance, opera and cinema, Jerildy Bosch began the “Experimentation and Intervention of Textiles to Create Costumes” workshop on Monday at Casa Haas.

During the workshop, the experienced designer of costumes for stage shared tips on how to choose the best material when making costumes, taking into account factors such as cost, endurance, aesthetic appeal and elasticity, and how to prevent the fabrics from shrinking when washing.

Despite having received the Gold Medal for Best Costumes in the Cuadrienal of Prague PQ 07 in 2007, and being nominated for the Ariel Award of Cinema in the wardrobe area for the film "Third Call" in 2014, Jerildy Bosch attended the concerns of her students in a friendly way regardless of their experience in the manufacturing of apparel.

Attendees had the opportunity to put the teacher’s instructions into practice and created their own designs and combinations of colors with textile paints. They created shadows and traced reliefs in fabrics such as cotton blankets, satin, towels, rope and burlap, among other things.

Mazatlecan artists, people working in relation to clothing and personnel from the costumes workshops of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan who are responsible for making the costumes for the major productions of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan throughout the year in festivals such as the Spring Season, Carnaval and the Mazatlán Cultural Festival are attending the workshop.

With support of the Ministry of Cultura, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, the Sinaloa Instituto de Cultura and the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan, the "Experimentation and Intervention of Textiles to Create Costumes" workshop is free, and will continue on Tuesday, the 23rd, and Wednesday, the 24th of May, 4 to 9 pm at Casa Haas. Registrations are closed.
