He injects his passion into the Camerata Mazatlan

In a white guayabera shirt, khaki pants, a lemon popsicle in his hands and a huge smile: with this image I met the Brazilian master Lanfranco Marcelletti, Head Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa. This Friday he will guide the Camerata Mazatlan in the program "Chrysanthemums and Trumpets".

"When I was 7 years old I found a few records from Readers Digest which had been given to my father, and that collection had opera, cinema, dance music... I remember that the first was orchestra music, a piece by Strauss, and I couldn´t stop listening to the record until my dad came and told me, Hey, you really love this music”.

In his second lesson, Marcelletti showed that this passion was alive, growing and was raging: as soon as the music started he was dancing, humming the tunes to spread to each of the members of Camerata Mazatlan and reminding them that music, like us, has its own life and you have to listen to it always, from the body.

After numerous observations, offering concepts, correcting the musicians and exchange ideas, a fine arts sound was born, harmonious and fluid. Astonishment was drawn on his face and the director acknowledged his musicians: "I´ve played this piece in different Orchestra and this is the first time that I’ve heard such a beautiful sound", the musicians of the Camerata Mazatlan applauded and sounded happy.

"I was telling the guys in the break that the important thing is working with a group that wants to work, it is available and open; it is not easy to find and I found it here. Since the first try, the group understood this dedication and commitment. It is wonderful that the Camerata Mazatlan students play with their teachers, that there are people from many parts of Mexico, that encourages them to find the best and it is something rare".

Master Lanfranco Marcelletti is confident that this Friday, at 8 pm, the Angela Peralta Theater will offer in a wonderful program that will offer a trip full of emotions to all locals with Baroque and romantic music by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Giovanni Pergolesi, Giacomo Puccini and Edvard Grieg.

"People will realize that much of what we are going to form part of his life. It is music that many of them are on their cell phones, they will say oh, I know! It will be a major event in this gem of a theatre that we all, everyone should be aware of. We expect them."

Tickets for ´Chrysanthemums and Trumpets´ have a cost of $100, $180, $200 and $220 pesos and are available at the ticket office of the Angela Peralta Theater from 9 am to 3 pm and from 5 to 7 pm (open until the concert on Friday).
