“Todavía no me la creo. Estuvo muy fuerte la competencia, éramos muchísimos aspirantes, fueron tres etapas, muy densas, pero como recién egresada del Nivel Técnico en Artes Teatral me sentía con las bases para lograrlo”.

Bolena formó parte del Taller de Teatro y la Carrera Técnica en Arte Teatral del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán. Fueron cuatro intensos años en los que una tímida jovencita de preparatoria que busca su camino se transformó en un mujer que sabe que el teatro es su destino.

“Cuando entré al Taller de Teatro era una chiquilla de 16, 17 años que no sabía qué hacer. Pero cada vez que me presentaba en el teatro y se abría el telón era una emoción inexplicable. Decía ‘yo me quiero dedicar a esto, yo quiero estar allí, ver a todas esas personas’. Y a mis papás les encantó, siempre me apoyaron. El teatro te ayuda a ver la vida de otra manera y tomé la decisión de que no podría hacer otra cosa, el arte me gusta muchísimo y esta rama del arte me encanta.”

Durante sus pruebas de admisión en la ENAT, Bolena Guevara recordó que, desde el momento en que supo de la existencia de esta escuela, ella tomaba cada curso, ensayo y representación en Mazatlán como si fuera su examen de admisión para esta institución. Ella sabía que contaba con argumentos sólidos.

“Aquí (en el Taller de Teatro y la Carrera Técnica en Arte Teatral del Instituto de Cultura) me dieron la tranquilidad de ser tú. No pretender ser alguien más. En el examen de la ENAT se pedía caminar y algunos lo hacían como modelos. Aquí me inculcaron mucho el ser tú mismo y hacer lo que tienes que hacer y necesitas hacer. Ser muy atenta a las indicaciones y siempre escuchar al maestro. Siempre preguntar y no quedarte callada”.

Apunto de experimentar una nueva forma de vivir y entender el teatro, la joven mazatleca reflexiona sobre cómo el significado de este arte ha cambiado de forma radical en tan poco tiempo.

“Yo no sabía lo que era el teatro. Yo pensaba que me iban a preparar para trabajar en una telenovela. Pero cuando empiezas a darte cuenta qué es este arte, y para qué sirve, que no sólo te preparan como actriz, sino para la vida, mi concepto cambió. Un actor debe saber observar la vida para poder crear un personaje. Para crear un personaje tienes que estudiar la psicología del personaje que viene en la dramaturgia. No somos psicólogos, pero aprendes mucho sobre la personas, sobre su carácter. Empiezas a entender a muchas personas, empiezas a entender las emociones y creo que eso te abre un panorama mucho más claro sobre la vida”.

Con maestros como Ramón Gómez Polo, Jorge Gorostiza (Q.E.P.D), Javier Díaz Dalannais, Alfredo Vergara, Sabrina de los Santos, Roberto de los Santos, Silvia Flores, Alberto Nájera, Flor Estrada y Ricardo Ramírez Carnero, esta actriz en ascenso no duda en que todos aquellos que deseen comprender y vivir del teatro tienen en Mazatlán dos opciones de primer nivel.

“Por supuesto que recomendaría el Taller de Teatro. Es un taller académicamente muy completo. De verdad tiene excelentes maestros. Y para quienes quieran dedicarse al teatro, la Carreta Técnica en Arte Teatral es académicamente muy buena, está en reestructuración y sé que estará mucho mejor en comparación del momento en el que a mí me tocó”.

Mazatlecan Actress Bolena Guevara joins ENAT

At the end of July, Mazatlecan Bolena Guevara was accepted as part of the 2017-2021 Generation of the National School of Theater Art, one of the most important theater training centers in Mexico.

"I still do not believe it. It was very strong competition, there were many aspiring actors, there were three stages, very dense, but as a graduate of the Technical Level in Theater Arts I had the strength to achieve it.

Bolena was part of the Theater Workshop and the Technical Career in Theater Art of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán. It was four intense years in which a timid little high school girl working to become her way become a woman who knows that the theater is her destination.

"When I entered the Theater Workshop I was a 16 year old girl who did not know what to do. But every time I introduced myself to the theater and the curtain opened, it was an inexplicable emotion. I said ´I want to dedicate myself to this, I want to be there, to see all those people´. And my parents loved it, they always supported me. The theater helps you to see life differently and I made the decision that I could not do anything else, art I really like and this branch of art that I love. "

During her ENAT admission tests, Bolena Guevara recalled that, from the moment she learned of the existence of this school, she took every course, essay and representation in Mazatlan as if it were her admission examination for this institution. She knew she had solid arguments.

"Here (in the Theater Workshop and the Technical Career in Theater Art of the Instituto de Cultura) gave me the peace of being myself. I do not pretend to be someone else. In the ENAT examination I  was asked to walk and some did as models. Here I was very much taught to be myself and doing what I have to do, what I need to do, to be very attentive to directions and always listen to the teacher. Always ask and do not keep quiet. "

About to experience a new way of living and understanding the theater, the young Mazatlecan reflects on how the meaning of this art has changed radically in such a short time.

"I did not know what the theater was. I thought they were going to prepare me to work on a soap opera. However, when you begin to realize what this art is, and what it serves, that not only prepares you as an actress, but for life, my concept changed. An actor must know how to observe life in order to create a character. To create a character you have to study the psychology of the character that comes in the dramaturgy. We are not psychologists, but you learn a lot about people, about their character. You start to understand many people, you begin to understand the emotions and I think that opens a much clearer picture of life. "

"Of course I would recommend the Theater Workshop. It is a very complete workshop academically. It really has excellent teachers. And for those who want to dedicate themselves to the theater, a degree in theatrical art is academically very good, it is being restructured and I know that it will be much better in comparison to the moment I began".
