Se cierra con broche de oro el Festival José Limón
Alumnos de la Escuela Profesional de Danza de Mazatlán despidieron la XXXI edición del Festival Internacional de Danza “José Limón” con la presentación de Caída Libre, un ecléctico programa de danza contemporánea que incluyó la pieza “Sparring Sky” creada por la compañía española La Intrusa.


Previo al espectáculo, dos intérpretes vestidos con atuendos de estilo gótico se pasaron entre el público mascando chicle y fumando para atraer la atención de los espectadores. Al comenzar la música disco las expresiones de júbilo llenaron el teatro.

En la primera parte del espectáculo hubo una serie de coreografías llenas de vitalidad y creatividad, con una gran diversidad de movimientos y mensajes que se quisieron transmitir.

Un aspecto que resaltó durante la presentación fue el uso de playback y movimientos exagerados en gran parte de las piezas, esto provocó que el público observara el lado satírico y cómico, logrando ser cautivado.

Conforme transcurría la noche y el número de coreografías, los asistentes comenzaron a formar parte del espectáculo, interactuaban con los bailarines cuando estos  pasaban por los asientos y reaccionaron ante las distintas obras.

Después del intermedio, 14 bailarines interpretaron la pieza “Sparring Sky”, montada por los españoles Virginia García y Damián Muñoz, codirectores de La Intrusa.

La coreografía “Sparring Sky” es una metáfora al esfuerzo y como se alcanzan las metas y los retos. Las altas y bajas que padecen las personas  al luchar por lo que  desean.

Mediante un entrenamiento simulado, los bailarines hicieron derroche de su gran fortaleza física y depurada técnica para  transmitir el mensaje deseado a través de movimientos bruscos y coordinados;  los intérpretes  interactuaban el uno con el otro no solo con la danza, sino también, con la voz. 

Para finalizar, los bailarines de la EPDM tomaron el escenario y el público de pie aplaudió con euforia para cerrar así, este importante festival  de danza contemporánea convocado por el Instituto Sinaloense de Cultura y el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán.

The Jose Limon Festival Closes with a "Broche de Oro" (golden brush)

 

Students of the School of Professional Dance of Mazatlan ended the 31ST Edition of the International Dance Festival "José Limón" with the presentation of Caida Libre (free fall), an eclectic program of contemporary dance that included the piece "Sparring Sky".

 

 

Before the show, two performers dressed in Gothic style costumes walked among the public, chewing gum and smoking to attract the attention of viewers. At the beginning of the disco music expressions of joy filled the theater.

In the first part of the show, there were a series of choreographies full of vitality and creativity, with a great diversity of movements and messages that they wanted to convey.

An appearance that was highlighted during the presentation was the use of playback and exaggerated movements, and with this, the public could see a satirical and comical side, captivating them.

As the night went on, the audience became part of the show, interacting with the dancers when they walked through the seats and reacted to the different works.

After the intermission, 14 dancers performed the piece "Sparring Sky", created by Virginia García y Damián Muñoz from Spain, Co-directors of La Intrusa.

The choreography "Sparring Sky" is a metaphor of effort and how challenges and goals are achieved; the highs and lows that people have fighting for what they want.

Through a simulated training, dancers used their great physical strength and refined technique to convey the desired message through coordinated and sudden movements, the performers interacted with one another, not only in dance, but also with voice.

Finally, the EPDM dancers took the stage and the public gave a euphoric standing ovation to close this important contemporary dance festival organized by the Sinaloa Instituto de Cultura and the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan.
