Sang-Woo, un niño de siete años de edad que siempre ha vivido en la ciudad, debe pasar una temporada en el campo con su abuela sordomuda ya que la madre ha quedado desempleada. El niño extraña todas las comodidades de la ciudad, energía eléctrica, video juegos, etc. Y parece no encontrar su lugar en el pueblo.

La sencillez, ignorancia y bondad de la anciana se contraponen amablemente al egoísmo y la rudeza del nieto, en una convivencia difícil que poco a poco se van tornando más amable cuando el niño acepta que no tiene otra compañía que la de la anciana.

El resultado es un entrañable relato de gran riqueza lírica que capta los pequeños detalles y grandes bellezas que se encuentran en los más sencillos momentos del día. Un filme que por su extraordinaria calidad artística, obtuvo Mención Especial a Mejor Director Novel y el Premio Signis para Nuevos Cineastas, en el Festival de San Sebastián 2002.

Guionista y cineasta originaria de Corea del Sur, Lee Juing-Hyang es graduada en Literatura Francesa por la Universidad de Sogang. En 1998 realiza el filme “El Zoologico al lado del Museo” y en el 2000, “Il Mare” pero su primera película exhibida en Occidente es “Todos los caminos llevan a casa” (2002), un emotivo trabajo que explora en el mundo de los afectos familiares. En 2011 realiza el filme “Una razón para vivir”.

This Saturday at the Cinema of the School of Art "All Roads Lead to Home" by Lee Jeung - Hyang

Celebrating the "Oriental filmmaker" cycle, the Cinema of the School of Arts will be showing the best works of the greatest directors in the region. This Saturday the film "All roads lead to home", will be shown by renowned Korean filmmaker Lee Jeung-Hyang.

Theunction starts at 6 pm and the entrance is free for all public, next to the Plazuela Machado. Limited seating.

Sang-Woo, a child of seven years of age who has always lived in the city, must spend a season in the field with his deaf-mute grandmother since his mother has been unemployed. The child misses the comforts of the city, electricity, video games, etc., and he seems out of place in the village.

The result is an endearing tale of great lyrical richness that captures the small details and big beauties that are found in the simpler times of the day. A film that by its extraordinary artistic quality, received special mention for best new Director and the Signis Award for new filmmakers at the Festival of San Sebastian 2002.
