De acuerdo a la maestra Monserrat Millán, organizadora del concurso de comparsas de este 2018, las características que se buscarán son: mayor calidad, potencial, creatividad en la coreografía, originalidad y la proyección escénica.

Este año veinte participantes dieron lo mejor de sí para poder formar parte de los desfiles de la fiesta máxima del puerto. El pasado viernes 24 de noviembre fueron seleccionados los diez candidatos que tendrán la oportunidad de presentar sus creaciones ante el pueblo mazatleco.

La mesa del jurado de este año cuenta con especialistas en cada área a evaluar. El jurado emitirá su voto en dos ocasiones: 50 por ciento en el desfile del domingo y 50 por ciento en el desfile del martes.

Los premios otorgados serán en efectivo, para el primer lugar serán 45 mil pesos, el segundo 35 mil y el tercer lugar 20 mil pesos.
