Disney Concert “Tale as Old as Time”

Si eres fan de las canciones de Disney, prepárate para cantar a viva voz y bailar sin parar con los temas más emblemáticos del estudio de dibujos animados más célebre del mundo, reunidos en este gran espectáculo para toda la familia.
El Director Colombiano Andrés Franco, actual Director Asociado de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Pittsburgh, Director Titular de la Signature Symphony, artista dotado de amplia imaginación y con gran capacidad comunicativa, dirigirá esta gran producción musical que transitará por algunas de las historias más entrañables del fascinante mundo de Disney.

El martes 7 y miércoles 8 de noviembre la Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes, el Coro Guillermo Sarabia y solistas vocales de Broadway, ofrecerán en el Teatro Ángela Peralta dos emocionantes conciertos, acompañados por la proyección de algunas escenas de las películas más exitosas de Disney.
La banda sonora de películas de la década de los 40 y 50 como: Pinocho, Bambi, Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, Fantasía y la Dama y el Vagabundo, abrirán el espectáculo musical con la OSSLA bajo la batuta de Andrés Franco, artista de inspiradora presencia en el podio.
Las canciones que han marcado la infancia de muchas generaciones serán disfrutadas en esta mágica velada musical, en la que el público se emocionará al escuchar los temas de Frozen (2013), Enredados (2010), Mulán (1998), Aladdin (1992), La Sirenita (1989), La Cenicienta (1950) y La Bella y la Bestia (1991).
El repertorio incluye piezas interpretadas por los icónicos villanos de las películas El libro de la selva (1967), La Sirenita y El Rey León, en un espectáculo en el que las imágenes de algunas de las películas más aplaudidas de Disney.

If you´re a fan of Disney´s songs, get ready to sing loudly and dance endlessly to the most iconic themes from the world´s most celebrated cartoon studio, gathered in this great show for the whole family.
Colombian Director Andrés Franco, current Associate Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Principal Director of Signature Symphony, a gifted artist with a wide imagination and great communicative capacity, will lead this great musical production that will take you through some of the most entertaining stories of the fascinating Disney World.
On Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8th, the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra and vocal soloists of Broadway will offer two exciting concerts at the Ángela Peralta Theater, accompanied by the showing of some scenes from the most successful Disney films.
The orchestra will play songs from the 40´s and 50´s such as: Pinocchio, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland, Fantasia and Lady and the Tramp, will open the musical show with OSSLA under the baton of Andrés Franco, artist with an inspiring presence on the podium.
The songs that have marked the childhood of many generations will be enjoyed in this magical musical evening, in which the audience will be excited to hear the themes of Frozen (2013), Repunzel (2010), Mulan (1998), Aladdin (1992), The Little Mermaid (1989), Cinderella (1950) and The Beauty and the Beast (1991).
The repertoire includes pieces performed by the iconic villains of the films The Jungle Book (1967), The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, in a show in which the images of some of the most acclaimed films of Disney will be seen.

 

 

 

Andrés Franco
Director
 
Born in Medellín, Colombia, in a family of recognized musical trajectory, Andrés Franco began his musical studies under the tutelage of his father, Jorge and his uncle, composer Luis Fernando Franco. After studying Piano with Radostina Petkova at the Javeriana University in Bogota, he moved to the United States to advance postgraduate studies in Piano with José Feghali.

He currently holds the positions of Associate Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Signature Symphony, and Principal Director of Caminos del Inka. Previously, he was Associate Director and Resident of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Kansas City Philharmonic and Assistant Director of Maestro Leonard Slatkin during the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Finals.
 
He regularly performs as a guest conductor in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, leading groups such as the Symphony Orchestra of Columbus, Corpus Christi, Elgin, El Paso, Eugene, Fort Worth, Houston, Lake Forest, Mississippi, Saint Louis, Saginaw Bay, Springfield and Stockton; the Boise and Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestras; the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra, the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has studied Orchestral Direction with renowned directors such as Marin Alsop, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Kurt Masur, Gustav Meier, Helmut Rilling, Gerard Schwarz and Leonard Slatkin, among others. Andrés Franco currently resides in the United States with his wife Victoria Luperi, associate principal clarinetist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
His wide range of interests and versatility have led him to participate in projects as diverse as the Bach Festival of Oregon, directing Cantatas based on the Psalms; "The Seasons" by Astor Piazzolla, a co-production of Philharmonic and the Kansas City Ballet in which he performed as a solo pianist and conductor; as well as the world premiere of "Escenas Convergentes", written by composer Luis Fernando Franco to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Pablo Tobón Uribe" Theater in Medellín, involving symphonic orchestra, vocal soloists, folk musicians, folk dance, modern dance and multimedia.

Andrés Franco currently resides in the United States with his wife Victoria Luperi, associate principal clarinetist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
