Durante cuatro horas de música continua  el Grupo La Cubata puso a bailar a las decenas de asistentes que dieron vida a esta quinta edición del Baile de Fantasía organizado por la estadounidense, Elizabeth Porras con el apoyo del Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán.

Recién iniciada la fiesta, el Baile de Fantasía recibió la distinguida presencia de las embajadoras del Carnaval de Mazatlán, quince reinas de belleza de distintos estados de México, Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica, cuya jovialidad y alegría contagió a la comunidad estadounidense.

En la conducción del  evento, Luis Ramírez, destacó la asistencia de Celia Jáuregui, Reina de los Juegos Florales de 1993; Lissy María Bernal Osuna, Reina del Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán 1995 y Lupita Osuna, Reina del Carnaval de 1964 y agradeció el apoyo brindado por el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán y Esteban  "El Bacho" Peraza, para hacer posible esta nueva edición del evento.

La música en vivo, un par de zanqueros, malabares y demostraciones de tango, danza árabe y salsa por parte del Instituto Índigo Multidisciplinario de Danza, mantuvieron encendida la llama de la fiesta hasta iniciar el tradicional baile de máscaras y concurso de disfraces de la noche, en el cual los participantes trataron de seducir con sus estrafalarios trajes al jurado integrado por Lola León, Blas Nayar, Marisol Galván Pelayo, Bodie Kellog y Wendy Kain.

Los jueces declararon como triples ganadores del concurso a Susie Morgan, Alan Simson y Oscar Esquivel. Elizabeth Porras, Joan Bachanski y Kevin Brewer, obtuvieron el segundo lugar del certamen, mientras que Stefanie Pinniser, Dennis Cope y Christine Davidson, recibieron su distintivo al quedar en el tercer lugar del concurso.

Los primeros lugares fueron recompensados con una botella de tequila y los segundos con una botella de vino tinto. Los nueve finalistas recibieron un certificado como ganadores del Concurso de Disfraces del Baile de Fantasía del Carnaval  Mazatlán 2018 y un par de boletos para asistir este viernes a la Coronación de la Reina de los Juegos Florales que tendrá como espectáculo principal al cuarteto inglés Il Divo.

The foreign community celebrates the beginning of Carnaval with its traditional Fantasy Ball

Under the theme of "Black and White and everything that Glitters", on Thursday night, the foreign community residing in the port was summoned to Terraza Los Pargos, to celebrate the start of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan 2018 with their traditional Fantasy Ball.

During four hours of continuous music, the group La Cubata played for dozens of attendees who gave life to this fifth edition of the Fantasy Ball organized by American Elizabeth Porras with the support of the Cultural Institute of Mazatlan.

At the beginning of the fiesta, the Fantasy Ball received the distinguished presence of the Carnaval Mazatlan ambassadors, fifteen beauty queens from different states of Mexico, United States and Latin America, whose joviality and joy spread to the foreign community.

Conducting the event, Luis Ramírez, highlighted by the attendance of Celia Jáuregui, Queen of the Floral Prize of Poetry of 1993; Lissy María Bernal Osuna, Queen of the Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan 1995 and Lupita Osuna, Queen of the Carnaval of 1964, thankful for the support provided by the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan and Esteban "El Bacho" Peraza, to make this new edition of the event possible.

Live music, a pair of stilt walkers, juggling and a tango demonstrations, Arab dancers and salsa by the Indigo Multidisciplinary Dance Institute, kept the party flame lit at the traditional masked ball and costume contest in which the participants tried to seduce the judges composed of Lola León, Blas Nayar, Marisol Galván Pelayo, Bodie Kellog and Wendy Kain with their costumes.

The judges declared Susie Morgan, Alan Simson and Oscar Esquivel as triple winners of the contest. Elizabeth Porras, Joan Bachanski and Kevin Brewer, obtained the second place of the contest, while Stefanie Pinniser, Dennis Cope and Christine Davidson, received their badges of third place in the contest.

The first places were rewarded with a bottle of tequila and the second with a bottle of red wine. The nine finalists received a certificate as winners of the Fancy Dance Costume Contest of Carnaval Mazatlan 2018 and a couple of tickets to attend this Friday the Coronation of the Queen of the Floral Prize of Poetry that will have as main show the English quartet Il Divo.
