De nueva cuenta, serán 11 gigantes los que dibujarán en las alturas las primeras ideas claras del tema de este año: “Patasala: El circo de los talentos”, que para el artista regiomontano ha implicado serios desafío.
“No tenía que ser algo cien por ciento realista; el tema: “El circo de los talentos” nos llevó a pensar en algo no necesariamente circense, pero sí que implicara un juego y una estilización acorde al tema”.
De esta forma, los íconos culturales y artísticos de “La Perla del Pacífico” comenzaron a fraguar una serie de diseños en la imaginación de González Neri; algunos fueron desechados, otros han sido perfeccionados obsesivamente y algunos más aparecieron como por arte de magia, ¿el resultado? Once creaciones que, asegura el artista, impactarán. Las primeras esculturas gigantes ya pueden ser observadas en la Av. del Mar.
Rigoberto Lewis, Enrique Patrón De Rueda, Antonio López Sáenz, el boxeador Joe Conde, Lola Beltrán, Ángela Peralta y Pedro Infante, entre otros personajes serán transmutados por la imaginación de González Neri y su equipo de trabajo en alucinantes esculturas que con engrudo, tela, papel, madera, acero, tornillos, hule espuma y pintura, mucha pintura, tienen la misión de ilusionar a miles de personas de México y el mundo.
Las figuras sorprenderán a locales y turistas sobre la Avenida del Mar y la Plazuela Machado, donde propios y extraños podrán tomar fotos de estos estandartes carnavaleros de 500 kilos y diez metros de altura que anticipan la llegada del Carnaval de Mazatlán a realizarse del 8 al 13 de febrero.

The Monigotes of "Patasalada: The Circus of the Talents" arrive
This Monday, the installation of the monigotes began, the monumental figures that each year announce the arrival of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan. The placement was supervised by its creator, artist Jorge González Neri, who anxiously waited for this moment after months of hard work.
Again, there will be 11 giants who will draw in the heights the first clear ideas of this year´s theme: "Patasala: The Circus of the Talents", which for the artist from Monterrey, has involved serious challenges.
"It did not have to be something 100 percent realistic; the theme: "The Circus of Talents" led us to think of something not necessarily about the circus, but it involved a game and stylization according to the theme ".
In this way, the cultural and artistic icons of "La Perla del Pacífico" began to forge a series of designs in the imagination of González Neri; some were discarded, others have been perfected obsessively and some more appeared as if by magic, the result? Eleven creations that, the artist assures, will impact the public. The first giant sculptures can now be seen on Av. Del Mar.
Rigoberto Lewis, Enrique Patrón De Rueda, Antonio López Sáenz, boxer Joe Conde, Lola Beltrán, Ángela Peralta and Pedro Infante, among other characters will be transmuted by the imagination of González Neri and his team in amazing sculptures with paste, cloth, paper, wood, steel, screws, foam and paint, a lot of paint, with the mission to delude thousands of people from Mexico and the world.
The figures will surprise locals and tourists on Avenida del Mar and Plazuela Machado, where locals and foreigners will be able to take pictures of these Carnaval icons of 500 kilos and ten meters high that anticipate the arrival of the Carnaval Mazatlan, held from the 8 to 13 of February.
