Con esta espectacular producción este 23 y 24 de noviembre, el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán celebra cien años de florecimiento cultural y veinticinco de la reinauguración de Teatro Ángela Peralta.

La soprano que se ha presentado en escenarios de Alemania, Argentina, Austria, Italia, Suiza, Estados Unidos,  España y México, define a su personaje como una mujer con dos lados, uno dulce y amable, y el otro fuerte y valiente que se muestra en el tercer acto.

A través de su voz Maija espera transmitir las emociones de Micaela y  comparte el apego que siente hacia la ópera “Carmen”, no solo por haber participado en ella para ocho distintas puestas en escena sino también porque fue la primera ópera que vio en el escenario:

“Todo es increíble, fue la primera ópera que vi cuando era pequeña y tenía 6 años, recuerdo que fue una impactante y poderosa experiencia al mismo tiempo, no pude dormir esa noche, la música seguía en mis oídos y mi corazón latía fuertemente desde al principio hasta el final”.

Anteriormente, la cantante de ópera se presentó en Guadalajara en el Teatro de Degollado bajo la dirección escénica de Ragnar Conde, el mismo que hoy la dirige para su próxima presentación en Mazatlán.

“Cuando haces el mismo rol muchas veces, cada director de escena trae su toque y color, siempre es emocionante e interesante, cada Carmen, cada José y Micaela es diferente”. 

La soprano se siente emocionada de conocer y trabajar junto al maestro Enrique Patrón De Rueda, pues se trata de un artista que sabe transmitir su pasión por el mundo de la ópera a los músicos y cantantes y es importante para las nuevas generaciones tener una figura como él.

Maija Kovalevska arrives to convey the emotions of Micaela in the opera Carmen

Soprano Maija Kovalevska will play Micaela in Georges Bizet´s opera "Carmen", a smashing story where love, obsession, snobbery and jealousy lead to a desperate ending.

With this spectacular production this November 23 and 24, the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán celebrates one hundred years of cultural flourishing and twenty-five since the reopening of the Ángela Peralta Theater.

The soprano who has performed in stages in Germany, Argentina, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, Spain and Mexico, defines her character as a woman with two sides, one sweet and kind, and the other strong and courageous, which she shows in the third act.

Through her voice, Maija hopes to transmit the emotions of Micaela and share the attachment she feels towards the opera "Carmen", not only because she participated in it for eight different productions but also because it was the first opera she saw on stage.

"Everything is amazing, it was the first opera I saw when I was little, I was 6 years old. I remember it was a powerful experience at the same time, I could not sleep that night, the music was still in my ears and my heart was pounding from beginning to the end."

Previously, the opera singer performed in Guadalajara at the Teatro de Degollado under the stage direction of Ragnar Conde, the same that today directs her for her next performance in Mazatlan.

"When you do the same role many times, each stage director brings his touch and color, it´s always exciting and interesting, every Carmen, every José and Micaela is different."

The soprano is excited to meet and work with maestro Enrique Patrón De Rueda, as he is an artist who knows how to transmit his passion for the world of opera to musicians and singers and it is important for new generations to have a figure like him.
