David es un hombre maduro que ha sufrido dos recientes y dramáticos acontecimientos en su vida, uno de ellos, el abandono de su mujer. Sumido en la desesperación y la soledad, conoce en un estacionamiento a Tommy, una niña solitaria que sufre el descuido de su madre, y que juega a ser adulto.

Este encuentro da un nuevo sentido a la vida de David, que decide convivir con la niña durante algunos días y mostrarle la belleza en el mundo. En un tono delicado y exquisito, el director explora en la soledad y la falta de amor, pasando de la intimidad a la complicidad entre dos seres totalmente diferentes.

Por su extraordinaria calidad artística, este filme obtuvo el Premio Ultra Indie a Mejor Película en el Festival de Woodstock, entre otras preseas.

Nacido en Nueva York, Ross Partridge cuenta con una larga carrera en el medio de la actuación, en filmes como “Las horas del descanso” (2011), “Amigos en Común” (2013), “El mundo perdido” (secuela de Parque Jurásico) y protagonistas de su filme “Belleza en el mundo” (Lamb, 2015), su trabajo más ambicioso y reconocido hasta el momento.

En el año 2000 realiza su primera película, “Interestatal” 84, y continúa trabajando para la televisión estadounidense con seis episodios de la serie “Wedlock” 2014.

"Beauty in the World" by Ross Partridge at the Cinema

The "Indie Cinema" cycle, which takes a look at the best films of independent cinema, continues this Saturday with the movie "Beauty in the World" by the talented American filmmaker Ross Partridge.

The function starts at 6 pm and the entrance is free for all public, entrance on of Plaza Machado. Limited seating.

David is a mature man who has suffered two recent and dramatic events in his life, one of them, the abandonment of his wife. Drenched in despair and loneliness, he meets Tommy in a parking lot, a solitary girl who suffers from the neglect of her mother, and who pretends to be an adult.

This meeting gives a new meaning to life for David, who decides to live with the girl for some days and to show her the beauty in the world. In a delicate and exquisite tone, the director explores in solitude and lack of love, moving from intimacy to complicity between two totally different beings.

For his extraordinary artistic quality, this film won the Ultra Indie Award for Best Film at the Woodstock Festival, among other awards.

Born in New York, Ross Partridge has a long career in the midst of acting, in films such as "The Hours of Rest" (2011), "Friends in Common" (2013), "The Lost World" (sequel to Jurassic Park,) and protagonists of his film "Beauty in the World" (Lamb, 2015), his most ambitious and recognized work so far.

In 2000, he made his first film, "Interstate" 84, and continues to work for American television with six episodes of the series "Wedlock" 2014.
