La Secretaría de la Defensa Militar abrió sus puertas al maestro Carlos Betanzos y sus pupilos que arrancaron con dos contagiosos temas de la Big Band de Glen Miller, “In the mood” y “American patrol” para después dar un giro a un clásico del pop “Thriller”, de Michael Jackson, que avivó el ánimo de los internos y demostró la versatilidad del conjunto.

Los internos, generales, jefes y tropas comenzaron a mover sus pies al ritmo de “Proud Mary”,  tema inmortalizado por la gran Tina Turner y posteriormente llegaron temas roqueros como “Have you ever see the rain”, de Creedence, un popurrí de la banda Chicago y “New York, New York”, unido por siempre a la voz de Frank Sinatra.

La energía de los chicos de la Banda de Jazz y el buen humor del maestro Betanzos hicieron que el público agradeciera a los artistas con un gran aplauso por una tarde en la que la música arrancó risas, momentos de euforia y asombro que fueron rematados por un colorido popurrí del “Rey del Mambo”, Dámaso Pérez Prado.

El General Brigadier Sergio Salvador Melchum Méndez, director de la Prisión Militar; el Teniente Coronel Antonio Enrique Zepeda de la Cruz, Subdirector de la Prisión Militar y el Dr. Antonio José Ambrosio Cruz, Médico Cirujano de la III Región Militar entregaron un reconocimiento al maestro Carlos Betanzos y le obsequiaron dos artesanías (un bajo eléctrico y un carro militar) de parte de los internos del Centro Penitenciario de la III Región Militar.

Los presentes aplaudieron a los artistas invitados que dieron muestra de sus alcances musicales y su  profesionalismo.

The Jazz Band sounds in the Military Prison

With the rhythm of saxophones, trumpets, drums, flutes, bass, piano and clarinets the Penitentiary Center of the III Military Region continued on Tuesday with the activities of its "Cultural Week 2017" thanks to the participation of the Jazz Band of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan in the framework of the Mazatlan Cultural 2017.

The Secretary of Military Defense opened his doors to maestro Carlos Betanzos and his pupils who started with two contagious songs of the Big Band of Glen Miller, "In the mood" and "American Patrol" to later tuen to a classic of pop, Michael Jackson´s "Thriller," which enlivened the mood of the inmates and demonstrated the versatility of the ensemble.

The inmates, generals, chiefs and troops began to move their feet to the rhythm of "Proud Mary", the theme immortalized by the great Tina Turner and later came moew serious songs like "Have you ever see the rain", by Creedence, a potpourri of the band Chicago and "New York, New York", forever attached to the voice of Frank Sinatra.

The energy of the guys from the Jazz Band and the good humor of maestro Betanzos made the public thank the artists with big applause for an afternoon in which the music brought laughing, moments of euphoria and amazement that were topped by a colorful potpourri by the "King of the Mambo", Dámaso Pérez Prado.

General Brigadier Sergio Salvador Melchum Méndez, director of the Military Prison; Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Enrique Zepeda de la Cruz, Deputy Director of the Military Prison and Dr. Antonio José Ambrosio Cruz, Surgeon of the III Military Region presented an acknowledgment to maestro Carlos Betanzos and presented him with two handicrafts (an electric bass and a military car) from the inmates of the Prison Center of the Third Military Region.

The guests applauded the invited artists who showed their musical achievements and their professionalism.
